The Toyota Corolla export process, step by step
Our service process
- 1
Inquiry
You send the model, trim, quantity, colours and destination — by WhatsApp, email or the form.
- 2
Communication
We confirm availability, recommend trims for your market and quote FOB China or CIF your port.
- 3
Order confirmation
We issue a Proforma Invoice (PI). Payment terms are agreed and written on the PI before you pay.
- 4
Inspection
Vehicles are prepared and inspected; export compliance and customs clearance are handled in China.
- 5
Shipping
Ro-Ro or container. You receive a photo or video at each milestone and the shipping documents.
- 6
After-sales service
We stay your contact after delivery for follow-up questions and repeat orders.
FOB or CIF: which should you choose?
- FOB (Free On Board) — we clear the car for export and load it on the vessel in China; you book and pay the sea freight. Choose it if you already have a forwarder.
- CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) — we also pay sea freight and insurance to your named port. Choose it for a first order or a single, all-in price.
- Under both rules the risk passes to you once the goods are on board in China. Both are defined in the ICC’s Incoterms 2020; for a full comparison see FOB vs CIF for car shipping.
What should be on your Proforma Invoice?
- Exact model year, trim and colour split
- Quantity and unit price
- Incoterm with named port, e.g. “CIF Lagos (Apapa), Incoterms 2020”
- Payment terms and bank details
- Shipping method and estimated departure
- The shipping and customs documents you will receive
If your country, bank or buyer needs a specific certificate or pre-shipment inspection, tell us before the PI is issued so it can be included.
Ro-Ro or container shipping

How long does the whole process take?
In-stock vehicles: shipment can be arranged within 10 working days after payment. Custom or specific models depend on sourcing and preparation. Sea transit time depends on the route; ask sales for a confirmed timeline to your port.
Who pays import duty?
The buyer, under both FOB and CIF, unless agreed otherwise in writing. Check current rates with your clearing agent — our market notes link to the relevant authorities.
Can I order a single car first?
Yes. The minimum order is 1 unit, and trial orders are welcome for new partners.
Ready for a quote?
We will quote both FOB and CIF so you can compare.
